EOTN: Navy Blue Smokey Eye

I love getting ready!

Don't get me wrong I also love to go out but the getting ready part is probably my favourite part of the evening...except of course for dancing with my gorgeous friend Elaina!!

My favourite part about getting ready is of course doing my makeup (duh, this is a beauty blog after all). I love creating a really sexy smokey eye, which is what I typically wear on nights out.

I thought I would share with you all the latest smokey eye I have been trying out lately. It's a gorgeous navy blue smokey eye using eyeshadows from my favourite makeup brand Nars.

Excuse the undone hair haha this seems to be a trend in my posts!

**Excuse the shininess in these photos I had to use flash as it was night-time and it made me look super oily...weird considering I am a dry-skinned girl haha

To create this look I first primed my eyes with UDPP. I next applied the Nars single eyeshadow in Outremer all over the lid and slightly into the crease as a base. Then I applied the lighter shade from my Nars duo eyeshadow in Dogon on the inner third of my eye blending it in with Outremer. I also carried that up slightly into the crease. After that I deepened the outer v and crease with the darker shade from the duo and blended it all together as well as bringing the colours underneath my eye. I then lined my eyes with Urban Decay's 24/7 liner in Zero.

I also decided to use some corner lashes for this look and opted for some that were in my POBM goodie bag. They are the brand Wasp and they came in a set (DL3) with some lash glue and an applicator tool. I love love love these lashes, being just corner lashes it's hard to tell I am wearing them but they make my lashes appear a lot fuller. I then added 2 coats of L'Oreal Voluminous mascara.

I hope you guys enjoy this EOTN :)

How do you guys do your makeup for a night on the town??

Be my Valentine? A Valentine's EOTD

I've never been all that into Valentine's Day. There is something about it that seems a bit forced but I'm not one of those people that completely despises it and sees it as a cash cow for Hallmark.

However, for those of you who do get into Valentine's Day I thought I would share with you an idea for an eye look you could wear on the day/night for whatever you may have planned :)

For this look I used a palette which I received for Christmas from my mum (thanks mum!). It's the Shiseido Luminizing Sation Eye Colour Trio in PK403. It contains three gorgeous different toned pinks that are highly pigmented and incredibly velvety to the touch.

I'm usually not a big pink eyeshadow person but I was surprised with how much I actually liked the look of pink on my eyes. Will definitely be getting some use out of this little beauty. It's said that wearing pink on your eyes can make you look sickly, but I don't see it with this look.

So here it is!!

This look was super simple to create. First I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion. Then I dusted the lightest pink shade all over the eye from lid to the brow bone. I then added the medium pink to most of my lid (avoiding the very inner corner). Finally I placed the darkest pink shade at the outer v of the eye and blended it into the crease. I also placed the shadows under my eye in the same fashion and joined them up at the outer corner.

I hope you guys enjoy this look, I think it's super pretty and very appropriate for Valentine's Day!!

Are you guys into Valentine's Day?? What are your plans??

Playing around with Nars Outremer (EOTD)

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope you all had a great Christmas. I got so spoilt this christmas firstly with some new makeup products and secondly with a new SLR camera!

Of course I was super excited. It's my first SLR and I'm such a beginner with it but even still I've managed to capture a few amazing photos (on auto of course haha). It's a Cannon EOS550 Rebel and was given to me by my amazing boyfriend Blake and my mum and her soon to be husband. I've included a picture of Tasha I shot with it this morning down below :)

Anyway back onto today's post, as you may have seen I recently purchased Nars Outremer eyeshadow. It's a gorgeous vibrant cobalt blue colour and created this eye look while playing with it on saturday, which I thought I would share with you guys.

I wanted to keep this eye look relatively simple due to the boldness of the blue so all I did was apply UDPP all over the lid to prime the eye. Then I applied MAC's Brule eyeshadow all over the eye to assist with the blending of Outremer. I then applied Nars Outremer with a MAC 217 brush starting from the outer corner, building up the colour and blending it inwards. To finish I just added a coat of Covergirl Lashblast Volume mascara.

I hope you like this look and you all had a wonderful Chrissie (or whatever holiday you celebrate!) Here's to an even better new years :)

What did you guys get for xmas??

EOTD: Featuring MAC's Coquette and Sumptuous Olive

I have used MAC's Coquette eyeshadow to fill in my brows for a long time now but I never considered using it as an eyeshadow....stupid I know right?

Well yesterday I was like you know what that could make a good outer corner colour/crease colour!! And out of that this eye look was born. I'm so glad I branched out and used this as an eyeshadow, it really looks great on my green eyes!!

So I thought I would share it with you all now :)

Just for reference Coquette is a matte brown/khaki shade, if you haven't seen it before there is a swatch at the end of this post.

To create this eye look I first primed my eyes with Urban Decay primer potion. I then added Nyx Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil in Milk to the inner corners and under the brow just to brighten them up a bit. A swipe of MAC's Brule all over the lid was next before I placed Coquette in the outer corner and blended it inwards. Sumptuous Olive was added to the inner corner and lid and the crease was blended out with MAC's Patina eyeshadow. UD's Sin was added to the brow and inner corner as a highlight.

To create the illusion of thicker lashes I added Savvy by DB's Liquid eyeliner in Brown to the upper lash line with a slight wing. A coat of Revlon's Fabulash mascara completed the look.

Full face

Products used to create this eye look

Here are the products I used to create this eye look, from left to right; UD Primer potion, Revlon Fabulash, Savvy by DB Liquid Eyeliner in Brown, Nyx Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil in Milk, Sigma E70, MAC 217, UD Sin, MAC Coquette, MAC Sumptuous Olive, MAC Brule and MAC Patina.

Swatches of the shadows; L-R: Brule, Coquette, Sumptuous Olive, Patina and Sin

Do any of you own Coquette?? What are your thoughts?

EOTD using Urban Decay Vegan Palette

Hey guys!!! I'm back :)

The last week was AMAZING but also a little crazy. We had 7 of Blake's friends over staying with us from Geelong...yep that's right 7 in our little house! It was messy but lots of fun, we had our housewarming and also went to Parklife. Hence the reason for my lack of blogging lately. But I'm back :)

This is an EOTD I wore a few days before the boys came over. I cracked out my Urban Decay Vegan palette for this one. I love the packaging of this palette and the colours are pretty nice (although I wish they had used a highlight colour instead of adding the blue shade)

UD Vegan Palette - See wouldn't a highlight colour be perfect
instead of that lonely blue colour!!

Inner corner: Half Baked
Lid colour: Urb
Outer Corner: Twice Baked
Crease/Blending colour: Smog
Black liner (sorry can't remember which one!)
Black mascara (sorry can't remember which one!)

I also blended the colours under the eye in the same order :)

I still can't take these photos without a depressed look! haha

Hope I haven't missed out on too much since I have been gone, it feels like I have been gone forever! Can't wait to get back into the swing of things.

Hope you all had a great day!!

OOTD and FOTD

Hey guys,

Sorry it's taken me a week to post but I've had a busy week and wasn't getting home until about 7pm each night (bloody roadworks on the freeway during peak hour!) so I didn't really have time to take any decent pics.

So I thought I would share with you my outfit of the day which I wore today as well as the makeup I did today. It was a relaxed day just did a bit of shopping and some photo taking :)

And here's the loot I bought today :)

I originally went to buy Dior Amber Diamond but when I asked the Dior lady how much it was I re-thought my purchase. $78 in store! You can get it online for $47...ridiculous!

So instead I had a look in the Miss Shop at Myer where they were having buy 1 get one free on their "must-have" pieces so I got this really cute coral top with gathered shoulders for $25 and a gold exposed zipper down the back and a blue floral singlet as my freebie.

Then I went to Priceline and picked up a couple of Models Own products; The Duo Concealer in 01 and a Mineral eyeshadow duo in Rocker Chic. I also got an Australis creme colour in Flirtatious Pink and Lee Stafford Dry Shampoo (I've never tried a dry shampoo before can you believe it??)

Next stop Cotton On where I got a blue cardigan for $29.95 and this knock off Alexander McQueen scarf with skulls on it for $12.95. I also picked up a cute charity bracelet for a dollar.

What do you guys like to wear on the weekend?? Do you dress up to go shopping or don't really care?

My First EOTD :)

Inspiration is sometimes hard to come by for me when it comes to different makeup looks. I was never a very creative person so my recent obsession with makeup and experimenting with different looks is quite new to me. This is why I love EOTD and FOTD posts.

This is my first attempt at an EOTD post. I never knew how hard these posts were to make! The photos took me ages to take and I'm still not overly happy with how they turned out but I think they will make do for my first try :)

This look is just a basic goldy/bronze brown smokey eye. I hope you like it!

To create this look I first primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion. I next placed MAC's Honey Lust in the inner corner, MAC's All That Glitters in the middle and MAC's Woodwinked on the outer third of the lid. I then blended MAC's Patina into the crease and added a little definition to the lash line and outer v with MAC's Twinks. I used Urban Decay's Virgin as a highlight on the brow bone.

I smudged some Face of Australia's Liquid Liner onto the lash line and lined my waterline with BYS's soft white eyeliner pencil. I also added some Twinks and All That Glitters to the lower lash line before I  curled my lashes and added a coat of Model's Prefer Jet Black mascara.

And here is a full face shot (eeek!) haha

And the products that I used to create this look;
