July Lust Have It!

I'm still loving getting my monthly Lust Have It! bag, even though I have enough samples to keep me going for about a year! haha Seriously I have a whole drawer dedicated to samples, which is great as it means I generally don't have to buy new skincare items very often as I always have something new to try out.

Here's what was in my Lust Have It! bag this month;

Again it was contained in a brightly coloured makeup bag. This month's colour is definitely a favourite its so bright and happy!

This bag contained six samples including one full sized product.

Matrix Deep Smoothing Shampoo ($29/500mL) & Conditioner ($29/250mL)

The first two products are these Matrix Deep Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner. It says it is for dry unruly hair. My hair isn't all that unruly but it does get very dry so I am excited to try these and see how it makes my hair feel.

Avene Gentle Purifying Scrub ($38.95/50mL) & Gentle Eye Make-up Remover ($22.95/125mL)

I was super excited to see two products from Avene in my bag, I've heard so much buzz about this brand and I'm looking forward to testing these out. The Eye Make-up Remover is especially interesting as it looks sort of like a gel, which is something I haven't seen before.

Tigi Shine Junkie Lip Gloss in Java ($16.95/10.5g) & Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion in Orange Blossom ($29.95/350mL)

I wasn't super excited to see the gloss. I tend to steer clear of glosses packaged like this as I find that no matter what the brand they always tend to leak and get everywhere! So annoying. But this colour is super pretty, its a very natural nude colour with a lot of golden shimmer. Feels nice on the lips too with minimal stickiness.

The body lotion I have received before in a different scent so I wasn't overly excited for this either. But it does smell super yummy and I like the consistency. I find these little samples are great for throwing in your bag as hand cream.

Total Value of this months bag = $2.90 + $3.48 + $3.90 + $4.59 +$16.95 + $2.13 = $33.95AUD

*The Pure Fiji didn't have an amount listed so I guesstimated it was about 25mL

Was your bag any different? What did you think of it??

Hope you had an amazing weekend.

Nars Haul!

I'm not sure if I have mentioned this or not but I decided it was time to quit my retail job and get a proper grown up job. I'm still working up until the end of August when Blake and I are heading to New Zealand for a snow trip but after that I will hopefully have a new job.

My resignation was a long time coming and I decided I deserved a little treat once I had finally done it. The treat was in the form of some products from my favourite beauty brand Nars.

I have had my eye on these products for a while now and now they are finally apart of my collection :)

Nars Eyeshadow Primer ($24USD from Kiss&Makeup, $39AUD from Mecca)

I've heard a lot about this primer recently and as I am almost out of my mini primer potions I thought I would give this a whirl. My first impression is that it definitely feels more siliconey than the urban decay primer potion, time will tell how it works. I will be sure to do a review for you once I have used it a bit more.

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Cordura ($34USD from Kiss&Makeup, $55AUD from Mecca)

I've seen a few swatches of this online and it was always one that I thought looked super pretty. When I received it I was surprised that the darker colour is actually a dark brown and not a black like I had seen in some swatch photos. Never the less it is still a gorgeous duo which I can't wait to experiment with. Looks like it'll make the perfect brown smokey eye.

Nars Lipstick in Schiap ($24USD from Kiss&Makeup, $39AUD from Mecca)

This is a cult favourite and I can see why. It's a gorgeous super bright barbie pink colour, which I cannot wait to wear! I was surprised at how little the Nars lipstick tubes are they are so tiny and cute.

This is a colour that I seem to be very attracted to as I seem to have amassed a few of them....

Here it is next to some of the other similar shades I own. From the left; Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie, Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipstick in Funtime Fuchsia, MAC's lipstick in Girl About Town and Nars Shiap. It's a little lighter than the rest and more of a true barbie pink colour.

Nars Blush in Gaiety ($26USD from Kiss&Makeup, $45AUD from Mecca)

Ever since I saw this little baby in Mecca earlier in the year I knew I had to have it. I am on the hunt for the perfect light pink blue based blush and have a feeling this could be it.

Isn't it super pretty!! Love it. It reminds me a lot of another of my Nars blushes, Desire. Here they are side by side. As you can see Desire is a lot darker and slightly more reddish pink whereas Gaiety is definitely on the more blue-toned side. If Desire scares you too much then Gaiety is a more subtle option with a similar effect.

What's your favourite beauty brand? Have you hauled anything exciting recently??

Doing my Sis' Makeup!!

This weekend my big sister Jess was going to a work do with her husband Andreas. Jess usually doesn't wear much makeup and has had even less inclination since having her first baby, little Logan (or Logi Bear as I like to call him).

She asked me if I would mind doing her makeup and of course I said I would. She wanted something natural but still special looking.

Here is the look I created :)

BEFORE

AFTER

I was pretty happy with the look I managed to create on Jess and luckily she was too! Logan looked pretty happy about it too haha (isn't he adorable!!)

Hope your all having a good night!

Review: Maybelline Colour Tattoos

So I finally caved and bought these on eBay a few weeks ago and then the day after was reading a magazine at work and saw that they were in Oz! Haha so silly

I purchased three of the colours, two of which I had seen talked about a lot online, Bad to the Bronze and Tough as Taupe. The third was a colour I thought looked beautiful but hadn't heard much buzz about and that is Pomegranate Punk.

Bad to the Bronze

I expected this to be very similar to my MAC paint pot in Indianwood but whereas that is a true warm bronze colour this leans more to the cooler taupe side once applied to the eyes. It has a beautiful shimmery finish to it which makes it perfect to be worn alone.

I'm happy to say that it did last a whole day on me with only minor creasing, which was barely noticeable. The colour did not fade and looked just as good at the end of the day as it did when first applied.

Tough As Taupe

This is a greyish purple taupe colour that dries matte. I find this to be quite a hard colour to wear alone as it can wash me out a little. I'm going to try wearing this as a base as I think it would look really good under other taupe colours such as Satin Taupe by MAC.

This lasts just as long as the Bad to the Bronze shadow and is super pigmented as well.

Pomegranate Punk

This is a gorgeous deep burgundy red colour which has tiny gold shimmers throughout. It looks gorgeous on the eyes and would definitely make blue eyes pop.

This didn't last as long as the other two, it seemed to fade more towards the end of the day. There was also some creasing which seemed to be more noticeable than the other two but only towards the end of the day so it can still definitely be worn alone.

I think this would also make for a really great base for a smokey eye. I think combined with black it would look incredible.

The packaging for these are very similar to the MAC Paint Pots. They are in a glass container with a plastic screw top lid which closes tightly, which is important so they don't dry out. The bottom of the container is clear so you can easily identify the colour.

L-R: Bad to the Bronze, Tough as Taupe & Pomegranate Punk (with flash)
Without Flash

Overall I would say these are definitely worth picking up if you haven't already. They are creamy, super pigmented and relatively long wearing. They also make great bases to eyeshadow looks and are pretty cheap. They retail for $11.95AUD and can be found in Priceline and anywhere that stocks Maybelline.

I got mine from this seller on eBay for $6.95USD each, the combined total and shipping was $30.82USD so pretty much the same as if I had bought them in store.

Just a disclaimer shadows tend not to crease very much on me so if you have oily lids you might notice more creasing and shorter lasting power than I have.

Have you tried these?? What do you think of them?? Any of colours you think I need to check out?

*If you read my last post I explained how I spilt water on my Macbook :( Turns out I completely ruined it (although the hard drive was alright - yay!) so I bit the bullet and got a new one. Yep the exact same one haha such a waste :( but I'm back now!! Thanks for all your sweet comments on my last post, they helped to cheer me up :)

A little bit sad....

So last night while I was being a great girlfriend and letting my boyfriend watch the formula one over Skype through my laptop I accidentally spilt a glass of water on the table it was sitting on and since then it won't turn on :(

I am taking it in to see how much it's going to set me back to fix it. If its too much I might have to buy a new one. But as I now only have my iPad for the moment I won't be able to do much blogging :( :(

Luckily I backed up my computer last week so hopefully I haven't lost all my photos or anything but I'm still pretty bummed as I have a feeling it's going to be quite costly!

Let me know if you've had a shared experience! Im pretty upset about it, I know it's just a computer but I spend a lot of my life on that thing!

So yeah hopefully I will be back soon but I can't tell you when yet. Tip for everyone don't keep your laptop on the same table as a drink haha

Love you all

June Lust Have It!

I love getting these little bags of surprises in the mail each month and so far I think it's been well worth the $15 a month. This month is no different.

This months bag was all about slowing down and enjoying the little things. June reminds us that half the year has already passed us by and this bag is trying to get us to slow down and pamper ourselves even just for a little while.

Here's what I got;

1. LoVitalite 24K Active Golden Yulan Oil Face Mask (now that's a mouthful!) - $59/5pk

The card says this mask is supposed to even out your skin tone and repair sun damage while promoting skin rejuvenation. I am really keen to test this mask out, I love face masks but have never tried a sheet mask before.

2. LonVitalite 24K Active Gold Full Eye Mask - $45/5pk

This mask is supposed to lighten dark circles, reduce puffiness and boost circulation. I am interested to see how well these masks perform.

3. Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo - $9.95 for 150mL

I have tried this before in another scent and quite liked it. Although I don't use dry shampoo all that often as I hate having dirty feeling hair it's still good to have. I love taking these mini sizes camping when I know I won't be able to wash my hair. It has a nice floral scent to it too which is a plus.

4. Bloom Glitter Liquid Eyeliner in Star Struck - $14.95 4g

I don't own any liquid glitter eyeliner and have never really felt the need to. This is nice although you have to layer it a few times for it to be noticeable. It's good to have but probably not something I would buy. This colour is a purple with blue and red glitters throughout.

5. Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume Sample - $90 for 50mL

I love getting perfume samples, they are great for testing out new scents and these are perfect for putting in your bag. I love this scent, along with most of the world! so getting this was exciting.

6. Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Perfume Sample - $115 for 75mL

This is a newer version of Daisy and smells just as good, its quite a bit sweeter than the original but still smells amazing. (Robbie seems to love it too - he's sniffing at the air where I sprayed it haha)

Total Value of the Bag = $11.80 + $9 + $3.30 + $14.95 + $2.15 + $1.84 = $43.04!

All of these goodies came in another little makeup bag, this time a bright purple. I do like these bags and find them very handy for travelling and storage but am afraid I might have to start throwing them out if they keep putting the samples in these every month.

Have you tried any of these products? Did you get anything different in your bag??

June Favourites (on time for once!!)

Look at me being all good and posting my favourites at the end of the month and not half way through like usual haha June hasn't been the best of months for me as I have been sick for two thirds of it :( But I am almost all better now so yay!

Here's just a quick post showing you what I have been loving for the month of June :)

Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer in Soft Honey

I love this concealer, even though it is a stick concealer it is really creamy and is great for both under eyes and covering blemishes.

Natio Liquid Bronzer

My friend Taz and I bought this on sale from David Jones a few weeks ago and are both really loving it. I've been using this to contour my face and find that it looks really natural but gives you a gorgeous glow.

MAC Omega Eyeshadow

I have been using this shadow to fill in my brows lately and love it. Even though my brows are quite dark I find that this works really well to fill in the sparse areas of my brows without leaving them looking too full.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural

Not only is this blush adorable but its gorgeous pinky colour gives your cheeks a nice natural looking flush.

Physicians Formula Eye Enhancing Gel Eyeliner - the Purple from the Green Eyes Set

This is without doubt the creamiest gel eyeliner I've tried and is a super vibrant purple that looks amazing against my green eyes.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze

I bought 3 of these off of ebay recently as I thought we'd have to wait forever to get them here in Oz. However, I have since discovered these are being released any day now! doh haha I think they will be about $11.95 so not too expensive either for once! This particular shade is a  gorgeous shimmery bronze that blends really nicely and is long-lasting. Perfect for a quick day or night look.

Real Techniques Brushes

These are only a few but all the brushes are incredible. These have become my favourite brushes within only a week of receiving them. They are super soft and dense but still flexible allowing for seamless blending/application.

And here is everything swatched :)

L-R: Natio Liquid Bronzer, Rimmel Concealer, MAC Omega, PF blush,
Bad to the Bronze and PF gel eyeliner.

Have you tried any of these products?? What have you been loving this past month??
